Payson Arizona is the heart of the "Rim Country", so named for the Mogollan Rim which is the edge of Arizona's Colorado Plateau. This impressive sight (approximately 20 miles north of Payson at the point shown above) stretches across a large portion of the state but can be seen at it's most beautiful north and east of Payson.
Nestled in ponderosa, pinyon, and juniper trees, Payson is the population and commerce center for Rim Country, an area which includes many small towns to the North, East, and South.
Even though we are "in the mountains", Payson is near to the Phoenix metropolitan area. The highway (Beeline Hwy or Hwy 87) from Payson to the Valley has been improved dramatically in recent years and has reduced the drive to about 90 minutes.
